AIR FRYERS / EDITORIAL GUIDE

Compact Air Fryers for Small UK Kitchens: 4 Models Compared

A small basket does not necessarily mean a shallow appliance. These four single-basket air fryers span 2–4.7 litres: the Tower prioritises a small footprint, the COSORI Lite adds optional connected features, the larger COSORI offers more published capacity, and the Ninja provides four on-appliance cooking modes. Start with the space you can safely use, then the amount you normally cook.

How to choose

Measure usable width, depth and height, plus the clearance and drawer-opening space required by the exact manual. Do not compare a cabinet-only measurement with one including a handle: the Lite manual quotes 37.5cm depth including its handle and spacer, versus 27cm without. Published litres are not a measured usable cooking area or a guaranteed meal count; food shape and single-layer cooking matter. The Tower has the smallest quoted footprint here but the smallest basket. The 4.7L COSORI offers more nominal capacity at similar width to the 3.8L options. Rated watts are not a comparative speed test or an energy-cost estimate. Compare the final delivered price: the checked Ninja offer is from a marketplace seller rather than a featured Amazon offer.

Our picks

1

COSORI Lite Smart Air Fryer, 3.8L (CAF-LI401S)

Optional app features in a 3.8L model.

Choose it for optional connected features without moving to a larger basket. Its nominal capacity is greater than the Tower's, but it is not the shallowest option.

Before you choose: Its 37.5cm full quoted depth matters on a narrow worktop. App features add setup, although normal local cooking does not require them.

More details

The Lite has a published 3.8L capacity and 1500W rating. Its manual gives 27W × 37.5D × 32.5H cm including the handle and air-outlet spacer—deeper than Amazon's shorter summary. Local controls remain usable without the app. Pros: 3.8L published capacity; Optional connected features alongside local controls. Consider: Full manual depth is greater than the retailer summary; Connected features require additional setup. Limitation: Published capacity is not a measured portion count. Allow the manual's ventilation and drawer-access space; no cooking-speed test was performed.

2

Tower Vortx 2 Litre Air Fryer (T17087)

The smallest quoted footprint.

Choose it when counter space and purchase price matter more than basket volume. It has the smallest quoted width and depth in this shortlist.

Before you choose: The 2L basket leaves less room for a meal than the larger models, and there are no digital presets or connected features.

More details

Tower's T17087 has a published 2L capacity, 1000W rating and dimensions of 18W × 23D × 31H cm. Temperature and 30-minute timer dials keep operation simple. Its manufacturer page and the exact Robert Dyas listing identify the same model. Pros: 18 × 23cm quoted footprint; Temperature and timer dials. Consider: Smallest published capacity here; No digital presets. Limitation: Check the manual's required clearance before use. The manufacturer specifies a hand-washable removable crisper tray; do not assume dishwasher cleaning.

3

COSORI 9-in-1 Air Fryer, 4.7L (CAF-L501)

More basket capacity at similar width.

Choose it when the 2L basket is too limiting and you can accommodate the depth. Its quoted width is close to the 3.8L models despite the larger nominal capacity.

Before you choose: It needs substantially more depth than the Tower. Extra litres do not prove better cooking performance or an exact number of servings.

More details

The 4.7L COSORI offers the largest published capacity here. The checked Amazon listing quotes 27.4W × 38.4D × 30.7H cm and 1500W, with a digital display and nine functions. Its UK part-number field reads CAF-L501-KUK. Pros: Largest published capacity in this shortlist; Digital controls and nine listed functions. Consider: 38.4cm quoted depth; More space than the 2L option. Limitation: The retailer's model-number field also shows a KUS suffix, while its part-number field says KUK. Confirm the UK part, plug and supplied documentation with the seller; do not assume a US-labelled variant is interchangeable.

4

Ninja Air Fryer, 3.8L (AF100UK)

Four modes without app setup.

Choose it if you want those four cooking modes without app setup and the quoted size fits. Check the final offer carefully: the new-condition Amazon offer observed was £134.99 from a marketplace seller.

Before you choose: It has less published capacity than the 4.7L COSORI, no connected features, and the checked marketplace offer costs more than the other offers in this shortlist.

More details

The AF100UK provides Air Fry, Roast, Reheat and Dehydrate modes through on-appliance digital controls. The retailer's feature section quotes a 3.8L basket and 27.9W × 33.8D × 34.5H cm. It is not described here as a touchscreen or connected appliance. Pros: Four on-appliance cooking modes; No app setup for ordinary operation. Consider: No connected features; Checked marketplace price is comparatively high. Limitation: Amazon's summary dimensions and power fields are inconsistent with its feature/technical sections. The table uses the feature-section dimensions and 1550W technical rating; confirm the exact AF100UK label/manual before buying.

How we assess products

This is a source-based comparison, not hands-on testing. We compared published capacities, dimensions, rated power and controls for the named models using manufacturer specifications and identified retailer product pages. The COSORI Lite manual gives dimensions including the handle and air-outlet spacer; retailer summaries can use a different basis. Other dimensions are labelled by their source and are not our measurements. Ranking reflects the small-kitchen use case and stated trade-offs, not affiliate relationships. Live offers were checked separately in a UK delivery context on 22 October 2026; delivery charges and marketplace sellers can differ.

Frequently asked questions

Is 2 litres enough for two people?

It depends on the food and portion size. The Tower's 2L basket is the smallest here and may mean separate batches for a complete meal. A 3.8L or 4.7L published capacity offers more nominal volume, but none of these figures guarantees a particular meal size.

Which measurements matter in a small kitchen?

Check width, depth including protrusions, height, drawer access and the ventilation clearance in the exact manual. The COSORI Lite manual explicitly separates dimensions with and without its handle and air-outlet spacer; a shorter retailer summary should not be treated as the full installation space.

Do I need an app to use the COSORI Lite?

No. It has on-appliance cooking controls. A compatible phone, app and network are needed for connected features, not ordinary local operation. Choose the manual Tower if you prefer temperature and timer dials rather than a digital interface.

Does lower wattage mean lower running costs?

Rated power describes electrical input, not energy used for a complete meal. Cooking duration and cycling also matter. We have not measured energy consumption or cooking speed, so the wattage comparison is not a savings claim.
